Waiting Wednesday

After our first flight was delayed 1 1/2 hours...

...and our second flight is delayed at least two hours, I'm blogging from the airport.  Thank goodness for free wireless internet connections!  We'll make it home from Florida super early tomorrow (about 2:00 a.m.).  Keep your fingers crossed that the kiddos sleep in.

Can you say Ranunculus?

Ranunculus_003_1_1

I can say it, but I am not sure I can spell it.  Ranunculus.  It doesn't show up in spell check either so I am just going with it.  I have always liked these flowers.  The remind me of peonies and roses, but they have foliage and buds that are kind of weedy or something.  More mundane, but so incredibly beautiful.  Just catching a glimpse of them is putting a smile on my face.

We are off on our spring break adventure tomorrow.  Enjoy your holiday weekend and don't be like me and eat too many jelly beans.  I think I have already overdone it and it isn't even Easter yet.

Version 2.0

I couldn't stop with just one...

Twirly_skirt_051_1_1

Isn't this fabric great?  I received it from roseandpie last month in exchange for a patchwork belt.  Super swap if you ask me.

I used bias tape on the hem and for the tie this time around.  I also increased the length of the skirt a wee bit to have a self-casing at the waist.  So easy.  Really, it was.  If enough of you want instructions, I can add them to the twirly skirt tutorial.

I forgot to fold in the ends of the bias tape before I sewed it together for the tie.  Instead of getting the stitch ripper out, I decided to tie little knots and pink the ends.  And you know what?  My mistake wasn't a mistake after all.  I love this little touch.

Hi

Popping in to say hello.  I tried to take a self-portrait so I could show off my new necklace from Mood Swing, but wasn't very successful.  This is as good as it gets.

I love this necklace!  Wearing it made me want another one.  This could cause problems, I think.

Another problem - I realize that we don't have many mirrors close to good natural light.  Hmmm...I should probably re-think that, huh?  Can I blame bad hair days on that?

It's Here!

Twirly_skirt_024_1_1

The good news:  the twirly skirt tutorial is finished!  The bad news:  I can't get it up on my blog the way I want.  I have spent the entire afternoon trying different things and still can't get it right.  If there are any typepad users out there who can help, I'd appreciate it.  Here's the deal:  I set it up as a photo album.  In design configuration, when I click on the photo album to show in the sidebar, you can only see my description/introduction.  I don't want this (lengthy) information there.  What I really want is a thumbnail of the above skirt that you click to take you to the gallery/tutorial.  Anybody have an idea?

For all of those waiting, it's coming.  I promise.

Thank you Kim!!!!  You can find the tutorial link in the right side bar.  Ahhh...finished!
