Thursday

Took Scout to be spayed and declawed.

Thinking she might need a cat bed when she comes home tomorrow.

Got a massage.  Apparently I needed one.  I was very tense.

Worked for a couple hours at the stationery store.

Went fabric shopping.  Bought too much.

Came home for 15 minutes, ate soup and read blogs.

Knitted in the car.

Made snacks and supervised homework.

Found forgotten treasure in mudroom closet (more on that tomorrow).

Contemplating assembly line sewing projects.

Wondering if I could run a half marathon.

Meeting girlfriends for dinner.

A very good Thursday.

Quick recap

The sign of a fun time:  my feet still hurt two days later.

Wedding_099_1_1

Ryan and Rosanna's wedding was very lovely and so much fun.  The girls did a great job as flower girls....they both managed to get their younger ring bearer cousins to the front without a hitch.  We ate and drank way too much, danced a ton and slept little.   The girls are off school today - a real blessing for this tired mom.  On the agenda:  lounging, a nap and more lounging.  Happy Monday!

Four more feet

Meet Scout, the newest addition to our house.

Scout_011_1_1

She is a great big ball of tail-chasing, leaf-pouncing, 12 week-old kitten energy.  Super sweet, a bit shy and so cute, she is just what we needed.  She was found in a hotel parking lot, apparently abandonded and has been cared for by a string of volunteers for the past few weeks.  I had mentioned to a few people that we were thinking about getting a kitten.  One thing led to another and now, here she is.  Welcome home, sweet Scout.

What a zoo

Zoo_032_1_1

I took this photo at the zoo on Friday.  There is just something about giraffes that slays me.  Maybe it's the height or their quiet ways.  Or it could be the eyelashes...wouldn't you love eyelashes like that?

And would you mind if I posted photos again this week?  Things are a bit hectic at the moment....volunteering at school, addressing envelopes, helping get things ready for my brother's wedding and rehearsal dinner (less than three weeks away).  The girls need shoes for their flower girl dresses and well, I just need a dress.  That would be nice.  I have a baby present for my newest nephew, Kenan, to finish.  And I have to get that done before the next little one comes along any day now.  There's yard work to do and some indoor painting, too.  I could go on and on, but I think I will stop.  Just reading this over is giving me a minor panic attack.

Breathe, Erin, breathe.
