I can say it, but I am not sure I can spell it. Ranunculus. It doesn't show up in spell check either so I am just going with it. I have always liked these flowers. The remind me of peonies and roses, but they have foliage and buds that are kind of weedy or something. More mundane, but so incredibly beautiful. Just catching a glimpse of them is putting a smile on my face.
We are off on our spring break adventure tomorrow. Enjoy your holiday weekend and don't be like me and eat too many jelly beans. I think I have already overdone it and it isn't even Easter yet.
Popping in to say hello. I tried to take a self-portrait so I could show off my new necklace from Mood Swing, but wasn't very successful. This is as good as it gets.
I love this necklace! Wearing it made me want another one. This could cause problems, I think.
Another problem - I realize that we don't have many mirrors close to good natural light. Hmmm...I should probably re-think that, huh? Can I blame bad hair days on that?
Thanks for all the kind compliments on Jane's skirt. I'd like to make a tutorial to give you more details, but you may have to wait a little while.
I took a big fall on my run this morning. I scraped myself up and twisted my ankle. After I got up, I started walking and felt just fine. So I finished my run, picked up the kids from school and ran my errands. I started to notice some tenderness while standing in the grocery store and by the time we got to the garden section in Home Depot, I could barely walk. I went straight home, took some ibuprofren, put it up and began icing (or edamame-ing?) it. I am hoping it is nothing big and that I will be much better tomorrow.
Until then, I'll be hanging out on the couch.
Today is our last warm day for awhile. The temperature is headed back to the 40's. Sigh. It's been nice.
All the spring weather has given me an itch to get sewing. I started cutting out some things for the girls last night. I have loads of ideas floating through my head - so many that I didn't sleep well. I just hope I can make them reality.
I didn't finish the socks. As soon as I do, Kate will want to wear them. I think they'll be better at 45 degrees than they would be at 75 degrees. Tomorrow sweet girl. I promise.
We drew a name for the garland kits this morning. The winner is...
Dawn! I will email you for your address and have it on its way this week.
Kate is about ready to lose her first tooth. Right now she has two rows of teeth - the permanent ones are already in behind the baby ones. Oh my little shark!
She doesn't want to pull it herself. She asked Fatty to use pliers! They tried last week, but it wasn't loose enough. Round two is tonight. And to make it all a bit more dramatic, Jane can't stand looking at or hearing about Kate's tooth. I guarantee that if anyone cries, it'll be Jane.
Jane is reading in front of the whole school today. That's where you'll find me at 10:00 a.m.
Happy Wednesday all!
Daylight Savings Time always throws me for a loop. Thank goodness for coffee.
I normally have one, maybe two cups each morning. Today I am dragging so if I seem a bit strange, it may be all the caffeine.
We had a great weekend. My mom was here for a short visit and the weather was beautiful - all sunny and warm. The girls played outside. They got into hula hoops, jump ropes, frisbees, roller skates, scooters. It was so nice to have some "new" things to do. There are some photos here. Poor Fatty came down with the stomach flu Saturday night and spent all of Sunday in bed. I am hoping it passes over the rest of us.
It was a craft-free weekend. I did spend a little time cleaning the sewing room up. Up for grabs:
You can see it on their website here. I have two sets - enough for 24 little stockings on a ribbon garland. The best part? I have done all the cutting - you just have to sew it up and embellish it. The bad news? Because I cut it all out, I can't separate the sets. Both will go to one lucky person - I will give you until Tuesday night to email me (hillroad at bellsouth dot net) if you are interested. I will draw a name and let you know on Wednesday. OK?
Time to do the laundry. When that's finished, you'll find me playing outside.
